What do you think? Is this a healthy way to cook chicken? And, do you have any suggestions for cooking chicken breasts?

I’d like to keep everything super simple and I’d like to cook everything inside – either in the oven or on the stove top.

Thanks in advance!

I have managed to go 6 days without drinking any soda – and I feel great! I must admit, the first 4 days were pretty rough. I had a big-time headache that just would not go away. Even when I took ibuprofen, I could still feel this ‘heaviness’ in what felt like the front of my brain.

But, yesterday, I spent some time with some good friends on the golf course. We played 27 holes and I drank a lot of water and Gatorade. I don’t know if it was the sunshine or the copious amount of fluids, but I felt my headache leave after the first 18 holes. And, guess what? I shot a 36 on the final 9! Yay!

Last night, right before I went to bed, I noticed that there was on can of Diet Mountain Dew in our refrigerator. Just for kicks, I decided to take a small sip, before throwing it out, just to see if I still like the taste. Guess what? After only one week, I no longer really like the taste of the soda. Isn’t that wild?

As a side note, my weight loss has come to a standstill – but I’m not worried. I’m in the process of making several changes in my life, including changes in how I eat, and I feel stronger and healthier than I have in years. So, instead of obsessing about weight loss, I’m going to focus on making better choices.

I have a severe headache. I’ve had it for the better part of three days. Why? Because I recently stopped drinking sodas. I’m glad I made the choice to give them up, but, man, my brain hurts!

My sleep patterns have been destroyed. At night, I’m all over the place. Last night, I slept on a couch, upright in a chair, and, finally, a few hours in my bed. I thought that going without caffeine would make it easier to sleep, but I honestly think that my body is weirded out by the fact that I’m not flooding it with caffeine every three or four hours.

Over the next few days, the headaches should go away and my body should adjust. Until then, I’ll just have to deal, knowing that the benefits of my decision far outweigh the temporary discomfort.

I have consumed my last Diet Mountain Dew.

As part of my new project, chronicled over at 99 Changes, I have decided that my first change will be that I will no longer consume soda, diet cola, pop, Mountain Dew, Coke, Pepsi, or an other carbonated beverage.

I’ve read several articles about the dangers associated with consuming soda. And, I’ve also read articles which claim that those dangers are overstated and that soda is relatively harmless. Either way, I’m making this decision based on the following factors -

I’m tired of wasting money on soda when tap water is free.

I’m tired of dealing with sugar and caffeine highs.

I need to drink water – and when I drink sodas, I don’t feel like drinking water.

So, from this point forward, I’m no longer drinking sodas, period.
